Sheltered Water SUP Award

Over the course of the day we will develop your understanding of how to paddle a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) and plan a trip in sheltered water, using the appropriate abilities and decision making skills to paddle safely.
 
The Award will give you the ability to organise and carry out an enjoyable and safe trip on the water up to 200 metres from shore, up to force 3 in winds. You will create proficient skills to anticipate and adapt to problems you may encounter to enable you to have a safe and enjoyable day out Stand Up Paddleboarding.
 
All Kit and Equipment is provided such as Wetsuits, Buoyancy Aids etc.

Who this course is for: Paddleboarders who wish to gain further knowledge and skills to develop independence in the sheltered water environment. 

What we may cover: Kit and equipment, journey planning, weather conditions, launching and landing, effective forward paddling, trimming and edging, steering, turning, moving sideways, stopping, external factors to our paddling, support strokes, safety of yourself and others.

What to Bring: Swimwear or Quick Drying layers to go underneath a wetsuit, an old pair of shoes you don’t mind getting wet and a towel. Fleeces and wool jumpers are an additional layer that can be worn in winter times. Please also bring a packed lunch.

Duration: One Day (Additional days can be purchased to suit your needs)

Cost: £80 inclusive of certification fees, full instruction and all equipment required.
