Adults Only Mixed Craft Taster Session
You will experience your first session on the water; learning the fundamental skills for an enjoyable time on the water whether that be on a Kayak, Paddleboard (SUP) or Canoe the choice is yours!
Led by your instructor, this relaxed learning environment will develop your key skills with other people of a similar age and aims.
We will provide you with the basic knowledge and skills to enable you to get on the water safely and make your craft move in all directions, with fun and games along the way.
After the session you will have gained your British Canoeing Paddle Start Award eCertificate. The skills learnt in the session will make you feel safe and confident when out on the water with a group of more experienced paddlers.
The Start Award will give you the confidence to begin progressing towards making your own choices and paddling independently and acts as a great stepping stone into the PADDLE DISCOVER AWARD.
All Kit and Equipment is provided such as Wetsuits, Bouyancy Aids etc.
Who is this course for? Adults aged 18 years plus who would like to get on the water for the first time!
What we may cover: Kit and equipment, launching and landing, standing, forward paddling, stopping, turning, fun and games!
What to bring: Swimwear or Quick Drying layers to go underneath a wetsuit, an old pair of shoes you don’t mind getting wet and a towel. Fleeces and wool jumpers are an additional layer that can be worn in winter times.
Duration: 90 mins
Afterwards: Why not enjoy a drink or snack from the centre whilst enjoying our fabulous views or hire some equipment out and practice all those new skills learnt.
Cost: £30 per session inclusive of your instructor and all the equipment required. Recieve a 10% discount when booking 2 or more spaces on a public session.
