Multi Day Touring Award

New for January 2019, over a 3, 4 or 5 day programme of ongoing training and assessment the Multi Day Touring Award will advance your ability to apply appropriate decision making skills for a safe, multi-day paddling trip with your peers. Before attending you should feel confident in paddling on upto grade 2 rivers and inland waters with upto force 4 winds.

As a Multi-Day Touring Award holder, you will have the ability to apply your choices to an enjoyable multi-day trip on a variety of waters including canals, lochs/lakes, estuaries and sections of rivers up to grade 2. Touring on open inland water with a potential fetch of up to 1000m and winds up to force 4(5).

All Kit and Equipment such as Wetsuits, Bouyancy Aids, Boats and Paddles are included.

Who this course is for: Touring paddlers who are already confident and efficient in paddling independently within the open water environment wishing to explore other water ways over multiple days.

What we may cover: Kit and equipment, packing, multi day journey planning, launching and landing, effective forward paddling, trimming and edging, steering, turning, moving sideways and sideways on the move, stopping, external factors to our paddling, support strokes, safety of yourself and others, sailing, poling, tracking and lining, portaging.

What to Bring: A full kit list will be provided.

Duration: This is a 3 day, 4 day or 5 course (you can choose how many additional days you may need to complete the award with us at £80 per day).

Cost: £240 for 3 days, £320 for 4 days or £400 for 5 days inclusive of certification fees, full instruction and all equipment required.
