Looking to develop your skills and have loads of fun along the way?

Last year our regular Sunday Paddle Clubs were a great success and we are pleased to continue these in 2017. Suitable for all ages from 8 years old and upwards, each week our highly qualified staff will teach you lots of new skills along the way whilst having fun. We use the British Canoeing Paddlepower Scheme as a framework for the sessions.

Our every Sunday from April to October we operate two clubs which are as follows:

09:30-11:00: Beginner Paddle Club (aimed at 8ish years old and above who are new to the sport who would like to have fun and learn new skills along the way)

11:30-13:00: Improver Paddle Club (aimed at juniors and adults alike who is BCU 1 Star/Paddlepower Passport standard or above who want to consolidate skills and work towards their next award in a fun environment)

You can work your way through the different levels one after the other, or start at the level you or your coach feel suits you best. Either way, you get a certificate when you’ve finished the course. Once you reach a certain standard in our beginners club you can move into the next club to further your skill.

During each level you will get to learn a variety of canoeing and kayaking skills and challenges and improve your knowledge – all in a fun and flexible way, and in different types of craft.

There are several different levels:

Paddlepower Start
This level can often be achieved after your first one or two sessions on our Beginner Paddle Club.

Paddlepower Passport / British Canoeing 1 Star
Gradually moving you on from your initial taste of the sport, through various skills and knowledge, giving you a really good base from which you could choose to set off onto the next level. (Paddlepower Passport is recognised as an equivalent award to British Canoeing 1 Star). This level can often be achieved after 8-10 sessions.

Paddlepower Discover / British Canoeing 2 Star
Focusing on developing your technique, skills and knowledge further, all in a fun and flexible way. (Paddlepower Discover is recognised as an equivalent award to British Canoeing 2 Star). This level can often be achieved after 12-14 sessions

Price: £7.00 per person per session, inclusive of your boat, paddle, wetsuit/cagoule, buoyancy aid and launch.
